Category Archives: Bookworm Tuesday

Each month I will go to the library and choose a “geeky” book to read and review. Since I am a horribly slow reader, the book will be broken up by chapters each week. Everyone should feel free to provide their insight, answer any queations posed, suggest any books and post thier own weekly reviews.

Bookworm Tuesday: I Will Breathe by Regina Puckett

This being my first ever Steampunk book, I am 110% thrilled. If Ms. Puckett is any indication of the excitement, adventure, emotion and thrills that can be expected from other novels, than I am pretty sure I will be added to the legion of fans of the genre. Continue reading

Bookworm Tuesday – Brave New World Ch. 1 -3

Before we get started, I want to confess that I originally read Aldous Hulxey’s Brave New World in high school, my Catholic high school. As I read it now, 20+ years removed, I am amazed that we were allowed to read such a novel. Promiscuity, affront against religion, contraception, what were my teachers thinking???? Luckily, I am not a very good reader and most of the fun stuff went over my head (and YES, I actually read this when it was assigned.) I have the sense I am still missing some of the fun stuff and may be misreading other sections. Alas, that is why I am here, to walk the path to Geekdom and hopefully find guidance, gentle correction and praise when it is deserved. So, without any further ado, welcome to my review of the first three chapters of Brave New World. Continue reading
