Thanks for checking out Pluck the Day! A challenge to myself to post an original drawing/sketch/cartoon at least 5 days a week.
For some reason I love drawing trees. So I just started drawing about 5 months ago. Prior to that, I hadn’t tried to “draw something” for nearly 25 plus years. Back then I was 10 years old and wanted to grow up to draw the Garfield comic strip. With my recent return to pencil and ink, I have found myself obsessed with trees. I look at other artist and the way they shade their forests. As I run I notice how the bark is configured on each passing trunk. When I am mindlessly sketching, say during a meeting or watching TV, most of the time it is of a tree. I couldn’t figure it out until just today. When I was younger, I thought that all artist spent time at the park drawing nature. To me, that was the epitome of talent, the ability to sit down and reproduce ones surrounding on the pad on your lap. I believe that is why I cannot stop filling sketch pads, printer paper and napkins with tiny forests. The best part is, discovering who lives out there.
