PluckTheDay-15-11-09

Thanks for checking out Pluck the Day! A challenge to myself to post an original cartoon at least 5 days a week.

First things first, that coffee cup is not big enough.  I actually want to buy a comically large mug which I would really use, but our cabinets are already overflowing with many different vessels by which to transfer the lifesaving caffeine into my body.  Regardless of the size of the mug, that first cup every Monday morning is a time where I think, “This could be a good day.”  Then by the second cup I’m thinking, “This could be a good week.”  Then by the time I get to work I realize that a happy Monday is like a UFO sighting, you’ve heard people tell stories about experiencing them but the claims have never been proven.

Either way, good luck to all of you on this fine, fine Moon’s Day. And may I wish upon you an ability to avoid holiday music for a few more days. (Seriously people, there are weeks before I start my holiday vacation, I am in no mood to be jolly.  Not until my end of year performance review is over and my performance goals are set for next year.  Once those are done, I can start slacking off again.)

If you enjoy what I’m doing, then there are three ways you can help:

About OxenTrot

During the day, I am a mild mannered desk jockey who helps to manage a large IT company.  At night, I am a family man, who is insanely in love with his wife and a proud daddy to an amazing girl.  But in the pre-dawn hours, as most everyone else is still asleep, I am my alter ego.  During that time, I am: OxenTrot. Ox was a call sign bestowed upon me while I was an active duty United States Marine, mainly in tribute to the fact that I was a major gym rat. After 5 years and three tours of duty, I reentered the civilian world.  My call sign was replaced by my actual name but the Ox still lived inside. As I began to adapt to my new life, I also began to take on new adventures, such as starting a family, getting a “big boy” job and taking on endurance sports.
