Pluck the Day – 11/05/2015

DogtorWho-15-11-05Last month I participated in Inktober, a virtual event which challenged participants to draw something in ink every day during the month of October.  I was late to the game since I was out of the country for the first half of the month, but when I return I jumped right into the mix.

Even though Inktober is over, I’ve decided that today I will continue the challenge of drawing, and posting, something every day.  I’m working on a few projects that will take a few weeks to finish up, but I’m thinking that it will do my soul good to force myself to make sure I knock out a finished piece each day, even if it is just something small and unimpressive.

For today’s installment, I drew inspiration from one of the many podcasts I listen to during my commutes to and from work.  This drawing was born out of the SModcast podcast, episode 339.  Hosts Kevin Smith and Scott Mosier were trying to wrap their heads around the idea of doctor’s using dogs to help “sniff out” butt cancer.  The dog I am using in this sketch is the same dog I will be using in the next installment of The Cliche Dick.  What can I say, I like to recycle.

If you enjoy what I’m doing, then there are three ways you can help:

  • Like this post
  • Leave a comment telling me what you like, advice you have, or gentle critiques 🙂

About OxenTrot

During the day, I am a mild mannered desk jockey who helps to manage a large IT company.  At night, I am a family man, who is insanely in love with his wife and a proud daddy to an amazing girl.  But in the pre-dawn hours, as most everyone else is still asleep, I am my alter ego.  During that time, I am: OxenTrot. Ox was a call sign bestowed upon me while I was an active duty United States Marine, mainly in tribute to the fact that I was a major gym rat. After 5 years and three tours of duty, I reentered the civilian world.  My call sign was replaced by my actual name but the Ox still lived inside. As I began to adapt to my new life, I also began to take on new adventures, such as starting a family, getting a “big boy” job and taking on endurance sports.
