Friday’s Week in Review: Happenings around OxenTrot

Anime, Batman, Lando, the Sketch Pad and More….

It’s Friday!!!! Hope everyone has fun filled plans for this weekend.  But before we get off to the beach or…the couch…let’s take a minute to look back at all the amazing things we accomplished at the Adventures of OxenTrot this week.

Cinema Club – I decided it was time to step up and finally venture into the land of Anime.  A vast and sometimes foreboding world, I have often found it confusing.  So I sent a question into the ethos asking where I should start.  The answers were exactly what I needed and I have already begun my adventure into the world of Japanese animation. In other words, YOU ALL ROCK!! Thanks for the help.

New Comic Look Back – In anticipation of the new books that hit the shelves this week, we looked over the story lines for Batman, IDW’s adaption of The Shrinking Man, Star Wars Lando and Earth 2: Society.

Anything Can Happen Wednesday – This week we played a Stream of Thought experiment.  Can you figure out how whales resulted in me making a note to ask my sister if she can get time off in September so we can drive to Canada to meet Penguin?  Check it out to see the process play out.

The Sketch Pad – I’ve started making time at 4:30 in the morning so I can draw.  Don’t worry, I’m already up at that time so I can go to the gym.  I live a somewhat odd life.  Anyway, you can check out some of the sketches I conjured up this week, including a new original character, <UNK>, and a special drawing for my daughter.

And that, my friends, is that for another week.  Until next week, have a great weekend and make sure to find time to go out and have some fun.

And if you want to stay updated with the going ons of our Adventure, you can:

About OxenTrot

During the day, I am a mild mannered desk jockey who helps to manage a large IT company.  At night, I am a family man, who is insanely in love with his wife and a proud daddy to an amazing girl.  But in the pre-dawn hours, as most everyone else is still asleep, I am my alter ego.  During that time, I am: OxenTrot. Ox was a call sign bestowed upon me while I was an active duty United States Marine, mainly in tribute to the fact that I was a major gym rat. After 5 years and three tours of duty, I reentered the civilian world.  My call sign was replaced by my actual name but the Ox still lived inside. As I began to adapt to my new life, I also began to take on new adventures, such as starting a family, getting a “big boy” job and taking on endurance sports.
