Friday’s Week in Review: Happenings around OxenTrot

Summer Movies, Spider-Man, Broken World, the Sketch Pad and More….

Hello August!!!! Hope everyone is enjoying the last full month of summer for 2015.  I’m having tons of fun and here is the proof.  It’s our look at what we accomplished at the Adventures of OxenTrot this week.

Cinema Club – This week we tried to see if we could determine the best summer for movies this millennia.  In the last 16 years we have seen the growth of the DC and Marvel cinematic universes, which has made summer movie going a must in order to keep up with the latest super hero story.  So, does one year stand above all others?  Or is the best yet to come?

New Comic Look Back – In anticipation of the new books that hit the shelves this week, we looked over the story lines for the Amazing Spider-Man Renew Your Vows and Broken World.

Anything Can Happen Wednesday – For this Anything Can Happen Wednesday, we found the Super Craft Brothers.  They have a Kickstarter to help fund their handcrafted wall art that focuses on gaming and geeky fun.

The Sketch Pad – I pulled out some of the sketches I did this week and threw them up on the blog.  Thanks to my 3 year old daughter, I have recently returned to the art of pencil and paper.

And that, my friends, is that for another week.  Until next week, have a great weekend and make sure to find time to go out and have some fun.

And if you want to stay updated with the going ons of our Adventure, you can:

About OxenTrot

During the day, I am a mild mannered desk jockey who helps to manage a large IT company.  At night, I am a family man, who is insanely in love with his wife and a proud daddy to an amazing girl.  But in the pre-dawn hours, as most everyone else is still asleep, I am my alter ego.  During that time, I am: OxenTrot. Ox was a call sign bestowed upon me while I was an active duty United States Marine, mainly in tribute to the fact that I was a major gym rat. After 5 years and three tours of duty, I reentered the civilian world.  My call sign was replaced by my actual name but the Ox still lived inside. As I began to adapt to my new life, I also began to take on new adventures, such as starting a family, getting a “big boy” job and taking on endurance sports.
