Anything Can Happen Wednesday: July NerdBlock

Ohhhhhh! Myyyyyy! God! I just opened my NerdBlock for this month.  I have to be honest and tell you that I was thinking about canceling my subscription.  Not now!  Here are the treasures I received this week.

Everything in this box was a winner for me but let’s start off with some of the lower key items.

A Ghostbuster’s wallet.  Most likely, this will never get used, other than to hold incidental items, such as duplicate credit cards, business cards for home repair people and coupons for home delivery food.  Which does provide great value in the long run.  Win!

Transformer Dangler.  I don’t have any Transformer stuff for my office.  This is a great little knick knack to add to the décor.  It may even double as a Christmas tree ornament later on this year.  Yes, a small Geek Christmas tree may be in order this holiday season.

Iron Man Pocket POP! Keychain. Yeeesssss! I am so stoked that this was in the box.  I can’t bring myself to actually use it as a keychain, but goes well with my other POP! figurines and may just join a special little Transformer up on that Christmas tree later this year.

Mad Max Fury Road Issue #1.  This is a comic I have not picked up but am SO excited to read.  What can I say, last week I was sort of lukewarm about the ComicBlock, but for some reason finding this book in my box made me giddy.

Spike Titans Vinyl Figure.  This was the first thing I noticed when I opened up the box and knew it was going to be a good day.  I love Buffy and am a huge fan of Spike.  Now he has a place of honor on top of my desk.

Karate Kid/G.I. Joe T-Shirt.  BEST! T-SHIRT! EVER! Mashing up Cobra Commander and Cobra Kai is brilliant.  This may have just become my new favorite shirt and that’s tough to pull off.  I might not take it off for the rest of the week.

There it is people.  This NerdBlock was super fun for me and really made me smile.  I still have the SuperGeekBox coming this month and they have their work cut out for them.

About OxenTrot

During the day, I am a mild mannered desk jockey who helps to manage a large IT company.  At night, I am a family man, who is insanely in love with his wife and a proud daddy to an amazing girl.  But in the pre-dawn hours, as most everyone else is still asleep, I am my alter ego.  During that time, I am: OxenTrot. Ox was a call sign bestowed upon me while I was an active duty United States Marine, mainly in tribute to the fact that I was a major gym rat. After 5 years and three tours of duty, I reentered the civilian world.  My call sign was replaced by my actual name but the Ox still lived inside. As I began to adapt to my new life, I also began to take on new adventures, such as starting a family, getting a “big boy” job and taking on endurance sports.

Yep! In full disclosure, my only other NerdBlock was ComicBlock last month. I was thinking about canceling b/c we need to make some room in our budget for our daughter’s schooling. She starts preschool in a few months so we need to find a few spots to tighten up the spending. I thought the subscription boxes would be an easy cut. Well, not right now for NerdBlock.
