Look Back Tuesday (The Fiction)

TheFiction_Issue2The Fiction #2 is hitting the shelves tomorrow so we are going to look back at what we saw last month. (Click here for a list of what’s coming out tomorrow.  We split the list into two groups: new single issues and new HC, TP, and Reprints.)

In issue #1 we are introduced to Tsang, Tyler, Max and Kassie.  As children, they found a magic book which transported them to a land of adventure and strange characters.  One day, Tsang disappears and the group can’t find him.  Fast forward a few decades and Tyler, Max, and Kassie are back in the real world living normal lives.  Tsang’s disappearance had been blamed on his father, who everyone felt was “a total tool.”  After a while, the remaining three learn to accept the fact that there was no fantasy world which they were transported to by a mystical book.  It was just a made up story to help deal with the fact that their friend was gone.

Then one night, as Tyler is locking up the house, the mysterious book appears out of nowhere.  TheFiction_Issue1It opens up and he disappears.  Kassie learns about Tyler’s disappearance and discovers the book in his house.  She searches out Max, whom she hasn’t talked to in years.  She tells him what has happened but he maintains that the adventures they had as children where just stories they used to deal with the ordeal of their friend being killed by his own father.

In the end Kassie tells Max that she is going back for the book and plans on finding their friends.  Max decides to join her and together they are transported to a world they left a lifetime ago.  However, this time, when they arrive, the world looks as if it has been destroyed.

What do you think we will discover tomorrow when Issue #2 gets released?  Will Max and Kassie find Tyler?  Will we find out where this magical book came from?  How long before we discover the fate of Tsang?  Only one more day before we hopefully find out some of the answers to these questions.

Have fun tomorrow picking up your new books and don’t forget to check out some of the other topics on this blog, such as Monday Cinema Club, Bookworm TuesdayAnything Can Happen WednesdayThrowback Thursday, and  Friday’s Week in Review.

About OxenTrot

During the day, I am a mild mannered desk jockey who helps to manage a large IT company.  At night, I am a family man, who is insanely in love with his wife and a proud daddy to an amazing girl.  But in the pre-dawn hours, as most everyone else is still asleep, I am my alter ego.  During that time, I am: OxenTrot. Ox was a call sign bestowed upon me while I was an active duty United States Marine, mainly in tribute to the fact that I was a major gym rat. After 5 years and three tours of duty, I reentered the civilian world.  My call sign was replaced by my actual name but the Ox still lived inside. As I began to adapt to my new life, I also began to take on new adventures, such as starting a family, getting a “big boy” job and taking on endurance sports.
