Friday’s Week in Review: Happenings around OxenTrot

CROFT, I Will Breathe, ChiBamtan, Vintage Superhero Toy Vehicles, and moreWeek_In_Review

This week was SO MUCH FUN!!! It was the first full week of July, so we saw some new segments begin.  Here is a roundup of what we accomplished at the Adventures of OxenTrot and what we can expect next week.

Monday Cinema Club – This month we are going short.  So we are hunting down and watching short movies and fan films.  This week we watched CROFT.  Less than 20 minutes of the industry’s best stunt people and a character based on action and adventure.  AWESOME

  • Next Week: Do you like Firefly, then come back next week as we review an amazing Firefly inspired short fan film.

Bookworm Tuesday – I read my first Steampunk book and was introduced to the amazing Regina Puckett (you can visit her page at reginadee2014). Less than 200 pages and you get an enticing story of Liberty and her journey in a post-apocalyptic world. If you haven’t read it yet, go to ( and grab your copy.

Additionally, we posted a group of comic book reviews in preparation of New Comics Wednesday and a list of what was expected on the shelves.

  • Next Week: We continue our review of short novels with Fall of the Core: Netcast Zero (The Frontiers Saga). Author Ryk Brown delivers a tale where the line between the real world and the virtual world has become nearly indistinguishable.

Anything Can Happen Wednesday – Anything can happen and those things can be found on YouTube.  Such as, ChiBatman (Japan’s most famous Batman), Square Clouds, and Bill Murray tending Bar.

  • Next Week: Who knows? I don’t.  Anything can happen.

Throwback Thursday – We looked back at some vintage, and very well played with, superhero themed Corgi toy vehicles from the 70s.  We have Superman, Batman and Spiderman cars, helicopters and more.

  • Next Week: Who knows what I will pull out when I dive back into the storage locker?  Action figures, comics, trading cards or old games.

And that, my friends, is that for the week.  Have a great weekend and make sure to find time to go out and have some fun.

About OxenTrot

During the day, I am a mild mannered desk jockey who helps to manage a large IT company.  At night, I am a family man, who is insanely in love with his wife and a proud daddy to an amazing girl.  But in the pre-dawn hours, as most everyone else is still asleep, I am my alter ego.  During that time, I am: OxenTrot. Ox was a call sign bestowed upon me while I was an active duty United States Marine, mainly in tribute to the fact that I was a major gym rat. After 5 years and three tours of duty, I reentered the civilian world.  My call sign was replaced by my actual name but the Ox still lived inside. As I began to adapt to my new life, I also began to take on new adventures, such as starting a family, getting a “big boy” job and taking on endurance sports.
