Throwback Thursday – Mr. Casey Jones

Mr. Jones

For this week’s Throwback Thursday, I decided to dive into the storage locker and pull out a classic toy from my childhood.  What was I going to find?  A He-Man figure? Some G.I. Joes?  Maybe a mutilated Transformer (I could never figure out how to get them to transform back into their vehicle form.) I did find all of those, but what I brought out was one of the coolest characters of Saturday morning cartoons. I found Casey Jones.

Of all the characters in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle universe, he was my favorite.  He definitely fit my appreciation of smart mouth characters who were a little rebellious and not 100% squeaky clean, but always seemed to come out on the side of right, even if it involved bending a rule here or there.  This action figure is such fun, from the strange weapons that includes a broken bat and golf club, to the hockey mask.  Everyone looks cool in a hockey mask.

I took Mr. Jones to work today, so you may see some extra photos pop up of a vigilante’s experiences in the corporate world.

About OxenTrot

During the day, I am a mild mannered desk jockey who helps to manage a large IT company.  At night, I am a family man, who is insanely in love with his wife and a proud daddy to an amazing girl.  But in the pre-dawn hours, as most everyone else is still asleep, I am my alter ego.  During that time, I am: OxenTrot. Ox was a call sign bestowed upon me while I was an active duty United States Marine, mainly in tribute to the fact that I was a major gym rat. After 5 years and three tours of duty, I reentered the civilian world.  My call sign was replaced by my actual name but the Ox still lived inside. As I began to adapt to my new life, I also began to take on new adventures, such as starting a family, getting a “big boy” job and taking on endurance sports.
